Fired sanitaryware are broken into small samples for collecting samples for Water Absorption (WA) and Crazing testing. Samples need to be taken from different areas to ensure comprehensive evaluation, including:
Single-side glazed area
Double-side glazed area
Fully exposed area
Sump area
Rim area
The crazing test involves placing a sample in a pressure vessel for no less than 10 hours, with saturated steam maintained at a pressure between 330 kPa and 360 kPa. After cooling to room temperature, the sample is immersed in a dye solution for 7 hours to check for crazing.
